The power of Mindset over Potential.

The power of Mindset over Potential.

From a logical perspective, we tend to know and understand that our mind has an incredible amount of power over all that we do and accomplish. However, when we are in the thick of our day to day muck, it becomes a little more difficult to keep this concept within focus, this is where the risk exists. So how exactly does our mind limit our potential? Firstly, let me start by level setting that our Mindset is ultimately made up of a collection of our beliefs. How we see and define the world based on our knowledge and experiences, or in some cases the experiences of others.

There was a time when it was believed the Earth was flat. This meant, somewhere out there, an end existed. What would happen if someone went too far? They would risk, literally, falling off the face of the earth!!! This widespread belief, lead to people limiting their movements. There was no way to be certain how far one could go before they hit the ends of the earth – so they stayed close. Fortunately, it was eventually discovered that the Earth was round and that Gravity existed.

Imagine humans had never disproved this belief? We would have stayed limited to the people and experiences within a small range of distance. Look around you, look inside you. Most of what you know has come through exploration, yours or someone else’s. Air, land and sea travel might never have been invented. Material things that we own were imported from other parts of the world. I could go on and on.

The point being, our beliefs (Mindset) have an unbelievable amount of power over how much we as humans we take the opportunity and make the choice to expand, learn and grow. Building awareness of what these beliefs are for us, and where they may be getting in our way is powerful beyond measure. This is the key to unlocking our greater potential. To expanding beyond our comfort zone so we can try, learn, fall, fail and grow.

What beliefs are holding you back from exploring more of who you are and all that you are capable of being?
